Recovery Walk July 23, 2026, Treaty Park, St. Augustine

Discover & Recover St. Johns County and Flagler OARS will host a Recovery Walk on Wednesday, July 23, offering a simple but meaningful way for community members to come together for connection, encouragement and support. The walk begins at 9 a.m. at Treaty Park, with participants meeting at 1595 Wildwood Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32086.

This event is open to anyone who is in recovery, supporting a loved one, or looking for a recovery-focused environment to connect with others. Organizers encourage participants to invite friends and family members and to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Recovery can feel isolating, especially when someone is navigating big life changes, rebuilding routines or learning how to ask for help. Events like a community walk create a low-pressure setting where people can show up as they are, meet others who understand, and take a step forward together.

Recovery is stronger when people do not have to do it alone, said Brock Birtolo, executive director of Flagler OARS. This walk is about showing up for one another, building community connections, and reminding people that support is available.

That message is at the heart of the Recovery Walk. It is not about perfection or performance. It is about presence. Sometimes the most important part of recovery is knowing there are people and resources nearby, and that there is a community willing to walk alongside you.

Discover & Recover St. Johns County and Flagler OARS provide peer support and recovery resources for individuals and families. Both organizations work to reduce stigma, strengthen community partnerships, and connect residents to services and support.
